This is one amazing venue, a short drive north of Durham in a town called Rougemont, NC. It's a farm setting, with wide open fields, horses, a barn and covered dance floor. It has that vintage, rustic meet country farm feel. We love photographing at this venue for all the portrait opportunities. The sunsets over the lake are just stunning too,
It was a stormy wet day in September, with occasional breaks in the rain. I met Jessica inside the main building with her family and bridesmaid to photograph their details and candid portraits. We then met up with Michael and the groomsmen who were getting ready over near the old gas station convenience store. A charming little building with an old motor car feel to the place.
The rain stopped and the ceremony continued as planned outside on the grass. With the stunning lake and oak tree in the background. This was one stunning location for their ceremony and we were so pleased it worked out for them.
Following the ceremony and the family portraits, we built in time for creative portraits with the sun setting.
After the reception, the couple had arranged for their family and friends to release Chinese lanterns in the sky. A beautiful site to see and a great end to the night.
