Lauren and Allen married at First Christian Church in Wilson. A spectacular historic church in the heart of downtown Wilson. The guys got ready at the back of the church in a quiet room away from everybody. The girls had the use of a building right next to the church. The ceremony was wonderful. With an air of excitement and nerves. The couple said their vows and walked down the aisle with the biggest smiles. We had the use of a classic American convertible car called a Thunderbird. This car was simply a treat for me, as I love Americana, always have since a young age. So to get to take photos of the couple in the car was a goal of mine for time now. I actually wanted to stand up while the car is moving and take some images. But and a big but... the brakes were really bad and a abrupt stops were regular. I could just see my self doing a flying image as I hurtled through the air. Hey it would have made an awesome image! Driving with them from the church to the reception, we stopped and did a mini portrait session on the way. Great fun and highly recommended for all couples.
The reception was held at The Leaning Tree in Bailey. A picturesque venue with plenty to offer for any reception. With outdoor and indoor facilities. The bride, the mother and I had previously done the bridal session at the same location. So I knew it would be just fantastic at night as it was during the day.
With a live band playing jazz, the reception was an extreme amount of fun for all the couple, family and guests. Exiting the reception via a sparklers into the Thunderbird. The brides father waiting to drive them off to their new life together.
